Diversity is Beautiful

While my husband’s Grandfather was still alive, I would often head down to his place for a few days or so to help him out. As I would prepare His food, there was a quote on his refrigerator by Albert Einstein, that read, “Everybody is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid.” Too often we see this on a regular basis. To often we judge others on what they can’t do instead of what they can do. Can you image what this world would be like today if we all pushed together instead of tripping each other up by harshly judging them on their weaknesses? Just because someone does not have the same strength or even interest as you do, does not make them horrible people or even stupid people. If everyone was amazing at sports and not other activities such as music, art, writing, or other activities then live would get boring really quick. I believe we need everyone’s unique abilities to make life more enjoyable. I believe it is the diversity that makes this world so beautiful, and that’s the way our Heavenly Father wants it and has planned it to help us all appreciate everyone’s difference and their unique talents and gifts. Diversity makes this world beautiful.

Hard Work Brings Forth Good Fruit

Today was the first day of my new job. I was really hoping to earn my associate degree before I went back to work full time, however, life is not always the way you plan it. Otherwise, I would continue to be a stay at home mother working on my education. However, I’m grateful for the job I was able to attain and for my new boss. He is the kindest man I have met. His personality is contagious. I'm sure I could have found a job that pays more, but I would not have had such a wonderful place to work at. One of my biggest concern about working full time is how my children will adjust to me being gone more often. However, my boss is letting me set my own schedule to where it accommodates my life as a working mother. I love the atmosphere I work in and how everyone is so kind and happy. I suppose it’s easy when your profession is in counseling. I feel like those kinds of individuals just get it and are more laid back than everyone else. Maybe they just know all the techniques on how to be happy and laid back.
Now I just have to figure out how to fit my classes in my new way of life. It’s a bit hard at the moment figuring out my schedule and managing time between work, being a mother, school, and a busy calling. I know it will take some trial and error, but I also know that I will figure it out as I go. So far, I have really enjoyed all I have learned.  I really look forward to seeing what this job has to offer and how it will help me grow. Here is to a new chapter in life that will not be easy.
