Ogden Dinosaur Museum

Our last stop before heading back to Missouri. We brought their cousin Taylor with us. This park is made up of status and a few robotic dinosaurs. It is a really fun place to take the kids and have a picnic.

Lima Peru

This is not my picture but just so you can see Larcomar Mall in the side of the cliff.

They last day in Peru was spent in Lima. Jared showed me some of the places he use to work. We also got to go to a gold museum. Absolutely amazing. The history is just astonishing. I ended it with Jared at the Lima Temple and Jared went on to meet up with his old mission companions.

This is larcomar. A mall built into the side of cliff over looking the ocean. Pretty amazing.

I almost did not get to go do a session I left my recommend in Utah and they could not get a hold of my bishop but because they had a record of my attendance and because it was regularly and recently they let me in. Counting my blessings. It sure is weird being the one not to understand anyone. My goal is to be able to communicate with Peruvians by the next time I go.

And of course this is one of the most beautiful buildings in Lima. They even had over night head quarters for those that traveled days to get here.

Pisaq

Pisaq was absolutely magnificent. This is One of the most beautiful places I have ever been or seen. It was raining and cloudy. Most the pictures were taken in the clouds. That is why they look a bit shady. There were point that we were even higher then the clouds. The best part was being so high that you really felt something amazing. Everything was green with dew on them. With every thing being so wet there were quite a few times that you'd worry about the side of the mountain giving away and you quite frequently felt as though you should be tide off. Especially when your guide would tell you to hug the side. Whats even more amazing is all the work that they put into building this place. It makes you wonder how they could go from building with stones to building with mud and hay. You are able to see a little of everything "Inca" at Pisaq. One of Inca engineering technique on display, other then the perfectly cut bricks, The inclined earthquake-proof walls and water channels, is the will and ability to cut and shape natural rock formations into alters or as based for a walls. The Incas were always careful to use the surrounding environment to their advantage.

This is they way they farmed. They built these terraces on the side of mountains. Apparently you could grow different things at different attitude and it is easier to defend your crop from intruders.

A vast cemetery of tombs cut into the steep cliff face. This was on of the largest cemeteries in the Inca world- more then 1000 tombs in various states of destruction can be found here

This a plant that they harvest for cereal.

The plants were so beautiful. Just perfect.

All of this On the side of a 20 thousand foot mountain.

This is a wheel or a grinder or what every you wanted to use it for.

This is not apart of the ruins but it sure looked pretty.

Their version of a love seat.

This is a perfect example of the earth-quake proofing. Built right into the existing rocks.

Sacrifice alter.

Running water is available throughout the city and the ceremonial center is no different. Water
arrives to a beautiful fountain would have had some religious significance based on its perfection.

This is of the affect of the flooding. There are two ways to get to pisaq this is the original rout but the side of the mountain gave away. This is not even the devastating part of the flood.
