HELLO MISSOURI!!!

Well we made it. We are here and all alive. It is gorgeous here. So green with lots of bugs. They are the only things that annoy me. Other then that the humidity has not been bad but everyone has been telling me that this summer was very mild (Not looking forward to next summer). There are a ton of things to do here. The first night here Jared took us to catch frogs. gross I Know but fun to watch the kids. All you have to do is run your foot through the grass and they start hopping. The firefly's are really neat. My favorite personally. We caught one but Jared had to kill it. It was about to make it great escape in the house. The pictures are of today's event. We went down to the Missouri river and the kids road their bikes well I pulled Raquel and Tyler road. There is a trail that goes along the Missouri river that is literally about 250 miles long. I hear you can take it all the way to Kansas City. It use to be a railroad all along the Missouri river so every so often you will see tacks and even cabooses. It is so neat. It is even better to go to church and study the Doctrine and Covenants and to think that most all of it took place in just a 3 hour radius. The lessons are so spiritual and more exciting.

This is Tyler after his long bike ride.
Sorry I could not figure out how to delete this picture.
This is Lewis, Clark and Clark's dog Sean. They are the explorers that founded St. Charles. Tyler and Raquel were really afraid of Sean until they realized he was not real.

The great beauty about this bridge is that it looks like the cars are driving into the trees.

My cute little angle, need I say more.

There were bird houses all along the park way.

Tyler enjoying the boat up close.

Good By Utah

Well I do have to admit that the only thing I miss about Utah is family. Don't get me wrong I love Utah, It is pretty and it will always be home for me but I am still excited about the adventure here in Missouri.

Great Grandpa Roberts and the kids. They still ask if they can go to his farm and feed the cows.

Grandpa and Raquel. Terry got Raquel hooked on ice. everytime it melts in her cup she needs more. That was untill we got here and don't have ice anymore. However that does not stop her from asking.

Grandma Kay, Grandpa Terry and the kids during the 4th of July. this is the the hardest for the kids. They really miss them and always talk about them.
We will see ya again in San Diego come November.

I would of posted more pictures of the family but I don't have any on me right now.

Family Reunion

Needless to say right after the 10 miler Niki drove us to Richfield for the Roberts Family Reunion. That is Jared's Mom's family. I would not recommend it after such a long run. I am still stiff. However it was fun. The kids had a blast and was excited to see their Great Grandpa Roberts. They love his farm. There was a frog race set up there too. All the kids were excited. The race works by touching the frogs bottom with a fly swatter to encourage it to hop to the finish line. Tyler got off track and just took the frog on a detour. One of his cousins is a bit younger then Tyler. He could not get his frog to go so he started to swat it. It was so funny. The Frog just puffed up and was out for the rest of the race. Poor frog.

This picture was taken at the wrong moment. Raquel is actually very fond of her Great Grandpa Roberts. When she realized that he was there she ran straight to him to hug him.

Provo 10 Miler

Note to self: Charge IPod before running, Don't forget warm running shirt and don't eat pancakes right after running. Wait at least 10 minutes.
I really did not think I would do as good as I did. I was not consistent with my training and got sick before the race and then when I tried to train it was always raining. However I did beat my time by 8 minutes. And I only had to wear my trash bag until mile 6. When it started raining it brought back horrible memories of the Marathon. Thank goodness it did not rain for long.

Oquirre Mountain Temple

Raquel enjoying her cookie and napkin.

We took the kids to the Oquirre Mountain Temple the Other day. Tyler was sure he was going to see Jesus. He kept asking were is Jesus. I was about to explain and Jared said to leave it at that, He might just see him. Tyler never did tell us if he did but he sure was fascinated with the temple. He was so quite and would ask questions every now and a again. I tried to explain all the pictures to him too. Raquel on the other hand wanted to touch everything and walk every where. She just kept saying Jesus, Jesus. I think she was looking for him. After we started walking to the car I asked Tyler what he thought. He said he wanted to go back again. So I'm getting ticket to take him again before it is dedicated. When we took the last picture the kids were all most blown away it was so windy.

Hills Air Force Show

I don't know if she was more afraid of the Pilot then just sitting on the plane
Here are three different planes from three different generations. The smallest is from
World War II and later in the show they did a fight between the Japanese plane and a U.S. plane. It was pretty neat to watch.

This plane was to loud for the kids to enjoy. However I sure did. It got up to over 600 mph and when the plane turned it literally would bluer. It was really neat looking. It is really amazing that we can build this kind of stuff.
It was Air Force week last week and it was quite fun. They had a tanker flying around the Salt Lake Valley with 4 jets refueling. They must of done it like 15 time and some of those times they got really close to the ground. It got me all proud to be an American. So I just had to see the Air show. I loved it. the kids on the other hands thought some of it was to loud. However they did like the trick planes. Some of them would fall from the sky like they were paper airplanes and then pull out of it the last second. I honestly can't wait till the next show. Jared was laughing at how much more I was into it then the kids. Maybe the kids can hang with Grandma and Grandpa next time, then I can make it a all day event. I would of had more pictures but all I had was my internal memory and forgot the SD card.
